Big Smiles - Dental Care

Hanford Elementary has partnered with Big Smiles to offer in-school dental care.  Simply complete the permission form or go to www.myschooldentist.com to sign up your child.

There may be no cost to you if your child is insured with Medi-Cal.  Private insurance and self-pay options are also available.

Our in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed, local professionals.  Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.

By having your child see the in-school dentist, you can help reduce the risk of:

  • Early tooth loss caused by dental decay
  • Gum disease
  • Heart disease
  • Impaired speech development

Taking care of your child's teeth is an important part of keeping them healthy.

Permission Form for service can be completed at www.myschooldentist.com

Principal's Message

Lincoln Families,

Welcome to the Home of the Lions! We can’t wait for you to hear us R.O.A.R. as we embark on the 2024-2025 school year. I hope you and your family had a safe and fun summer, making memories and soaking up every minute of vacation. I know we have missed our students and are excited to see all of our R.O.A.R’ing Lions back on-campus.

For those of you new to Lincoln, my name is Cynthia Pursell and I am honored to serve our community as the Principal of Lincoln Elementary. This school year will mark my 12th year at Lincoln, as I served as the Learning Director for 6 years prior to becoming Principal in the 19-20 school year. Throughout my time here, I can say wholeheartedly that our staff truly loves, cares and wants nothing but the best for our students. We are committed to providing our Lions with a safe, positive and high-quality learning experience that will help them grow academically. We can’t wait for you to hear them R.O.A.R!

This year we have a couple of new members to the Lincoln Elementary staff. Please help me welcome:

- Arlo Braun, School Psychologist
- Stephanie Parks, 3rd Grade Teacher
- Brittni Gingras, 4th Grade Teacher
- Metzli Curiel, RSP Teacher
- Alison Vidal- Library Media Technician (LMT)
- Graciela Alvarez, LVN
- Alyssa Medina- READY Tutor
- Cristina Castorena- READY Tutor

At Lincoln, our staff and students are striving to live by R.O.A.R. each and every day. We are committed to being Respectful, being On-task, being an Achiever, and being Responsible in and outside of the classroom. Through R.O.A.R. we show our Lincoln Lion pride and strive to do our very best. We will strive to make the 2024-2025 school year a positive and memorable experience for you and your child. We will strive to ensure that each Lion remains goal oriented and develops the belief that they can do anything they set their minds to. With the hard work and dedication of our students, families and staff, we can ensure that our Lions can accomplish great things and grow to meet their academic potential.

As parents, you can help your child be successful and R.O.A.R. by ensuring that they are developing healthy habits around school. Ensure that your child is attending school every day, ask them about what they learned daily, and ensure that your child is completing all their assignments. If you have any questions on the classroom material or assignments, remember, you can always reach out to your child’s teacher via ParentSquare. We are always here to help. In order to ensure that our Lions are ready to tackle their academic goals, students must be in school. One of our school site goals this year is to have 98% attendance every day. With roughly around 400 students, this means that Lincoln is striving to have no more than 8 students absent from the whole school each day! Please help us educate your children by getting them to school every day, and we’ll take it from there! Please make sure to prioritize your children coming to school, every day, on time. This is a team effort, and we can’t do it without the support of our families. Let’s work together in ensuring are Lions are present to learn!

On behalf of the Lincoln teachers and staff…Welcome Back!

Your Proud Principal,

Cynthia Pursell
